The Three Lions traveled to Finland hoping to recover from their defeat in the previous match. England took some time to get the game going. Before scoring the opening goal through Jack Grealish, who scored from close range in the 18th minute. Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7.5/10
Played at left-back, where he seemed to be more responsible for the attacking side than the defensive side, which made the left side of England more vulnerable to counterattacks. On several occasions, Trent’s defensive play was not very refined and almost cost the team a goal, but he made up for it with a wonderful free-kick towards the end of the game.
Angel Gomes – 7/10
Passed as a central midfielder. He has both technique and cleverness in playing the ball. He helps the team break the press well. He also has a sharp vision, which led to 1 assist. Looks like he will be able to seize the starting position.
Declan Rice – 7.5/10
He played well in defense, with no mistakes to be seen. He was always there to carry the ball from midfield to the front. He was just not understanding his teammates during the offensive phase, which led to a few inconsistencies in the final third. However, he scored a goal to put the final nail in the coffin for the team to breathe easier towards the end.
Cole Palmer – 6.5/10
His form was not as impressive as when he played for Chelsea, partly because the team played the ball on the other side quite a lot. When he got the ball, Palmer tried to pass the ball to create chances for his teammates, but he wasn’t very accurate.
Jude Bellingham – 7/10
He was a solid ball control player, making smooth transitions from attack to defense, always looking for opportunities to create for his teammates. It’s a shame he didn’t have a goal or an assist in this game.
Jack Grealish – 7.5/10
He may not have dribbled past his opponents, but today, Grealish helped England’s left-wing attack look quite intimidating. He also had a chance to run in to receive the ball and shoot it in softly, giving his team the lead.
Harry Kane – 6.5/10
Playing more of a link-up role than a finisher, Kane has dropped deep on several occasions to receive the ball and then pass it. Overall, he hasn’t created much of a threat to Finland’s defense and hasn’t had a single shot on target.
